Market Analysis of Major Protective Products in New Corona Virus Situation

Mar 23, 2020

1. Masks

Wearing a mask is currently the most necessary, direct and effective product against pneumonia virus protection. At present, there are many types of masks on the market, and the most commonly used are N95 masks and medical surgical masks.

(1) General medical masks: in accordance with YY / T0969-2013 technical standards, for various clinical personnel to wear during non-invasive procedures, covering the user's mouth, nose and jaw, in order to prevent pathogenic microorganisms, particulate matter, etc. directly By providing a certain physical barrier. Ordinary medical masks usually do not have the performance requirements of water resistance and particle filtration efficiency.

(2) Medical surgical masks: in accordance with YY0469-2011 technical standards, the product is suitable for clinical medical personnel to wear during invasive procedures, to provide protection for patients undergoing treatment and medical personnel performing invasive procedures to prevent blood and body fluids And splatter spread. Medical surgical masks have good waterproof performance and particle filtering efficiency. The filtering effect can usually reach 70%, and the "outer green and inner white" medical surgical masks commonly seen on the market.

(3) Medical protective masks: in accordance with the technical standards of GB19038-2010, the product is suitable for filtering particulates in the air and blocking droplets, blood, body fluids, secretions, etc. in a medical work environment. Medical protective masks have good particle filtering efficiency, can effectively filter viruses, and the filtering effect reaches 95% and above. For example, N95 masks and kN95 masks with better protection effects are mainly 3M's 9132, 1860 and Honeywell H950v, etc. (9501 and 9502 are the difference between headgear and earband).

Note: The letter i indicates the nature of the particles: N-non-oily particles; R-oily and non-oily particles; P-strongly blocks oily and non-oily particles; ii numbers indicate: the level of filtering effect; higher numbers indicate higher protection levels High, the protection effect of p100 is the best. Therefore, 95 represents a filtering effect of more than 95%, and 99 represents a filtering effect of more than 99%. N95 means: the filtering effect of non-oily particulate matter with a size of 0.3 microns and above reaches 95%.

On January 29, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology responded that after this period of effort, the output of masks reached more than 8 million a day, and the resumption of production and rehabilitation reached 40%. Based on this calculation, China's current mask production capacity is about 20 million per day.

Recently, mask manufacturers in various provinces have announced the resumption of work, and many factories are put into production 24 hours to try to make up for market vacancies. We collected the number of rework factories and daily output of masks reported by media in various places. At present, the daily output of masks in China has exceeded 15 million, which is close to 75% of China's largest production capacity; there are more than 200 mask companies in rework.

With the end of the Spring Festival holiday and the mobilization of local governments, the supply of raw materials and logistics will gradually resume. Except for those companies that have resumed work in the above regions, the rest of the companies that have not resumed work will resume one by one, and each mask production company will enter a full load operation state. Adding to the factors that capable companies are purchasing equipment to expand the production scale of masks, China's mask output is expected to double from the current one in the next month, and the daily output may exceed 30 million, which will greatly ease the current mask shortage. status.
