Form-fill-seal machine is a machine that forms packaging, fills wet or dry products and seals the packaging. Most FFS systems use flexible films to form basic packaging, such as bags or pouches. And most blister packs are produced with thermoforming/filling/sealing machines.

The FFS machine may fill the package from the top or the side.

The final step can include 3-sided or 4-sided sealing. For many years, heat sealing has been the method of choice for performing critical final steps.
